Eventing Day should have been up and running five years ago, when I first had the idea for an all eventing all the time website. It was way back then that I purchased the URL and then promptly got busy with the barn, the horses, people, work, writing, family, etc.  You get the picture. I just got snowed under and Eventing Day was pushed to the back burner.

I've loved and worked in this sport for many years and always thought about Eventing Day, but it wasn't until recently that I decided to trot the URL out of the barn and get to work on this site.

I truly envision this site as a viewer-oriented site with lots of room for what you have to say about the sport we all love.  I want to hear about your riding, your horses, your adventures in cross-country and your stadium and dressage triumphs and disappointments. Send me your weekend photos and stories and I'll post them on the Start Box page. It's your page to post what you find interesting and informative, as long as it's eventing only.

If you're an organizer, please send me any info and photos you'd like to pass along for The Organizer's Corner page.  It's there, waiting for you to use for entry info, volunteer requests -- anything you want to communicate to Eventers and Eventing fans.

I'll be doing rider profiles, horse profiles, weekend wrap-ups, and passing along news and information you may find useful and entertaining, informative and timely.

For the latest news off the wires, visit the Event Net page.  As soon as the info hits the net, it hits the Event Net  page. I'll be adding feeds to this page from time to time.  If you have any suggestions here, let me know.

If you have a beloved eventing friend or four-legged partner that you'd would like to memorialize,  send us your story and a picture and we'll post it on the Down The Galloping Lane page. At least that's what I'm thinking it will be called...

I've created a sidebar widget called The Entry Form to make it easy for you to find the most current horse trials opening and closing dates as well as weekend results links and Omnibus calendar changes.  So check it out to see how much time you have left to send in your entry -- don't want to cut it too close. I give you a week's notice for the all important closing date.

If you have any suggestions, ideas, or comments, I'd really love to hear about them.  I can be reached by email at nan (at) eventingday (dot) com.  Sorry for the cryptic email address but I'm really sick of spammers. Use this address for sending any photos, video links, letters, posts, copy, etc.

Finally, let me close by saying that I love this sport.  I've covered it for more that twenty years and want to continue covering it for years to come. That being said, We're just starting out with the eventing only format.  Give us some time to get up to speed. We'll try not to disappoint... honest.
