Sunday Morning Lay Up and The BIG PICTURE

Dunrath's Alto and Lauren O'Brien, Rolex 2007
First, lots of little horses in Fallon Nevada need homes.  Lifesaver Wild Horse Rescue in Nevada has over 100 slaughter auction rescued foals and yearlings to adopt.  Most are of mustang heritage, taken from a Native American Reservation land -- although not BLM so they are not branded.  For more photos and more information, click here.

Speaking of horses and new homes, Frances Stead's Clifton Promise is for sale.  Not only talented -   big beautiful Promise is a sweet heart too.

The Equinest has posted a list of dressage and eventing  I-phone apps ranging from official USEF and USDF Dressage Tests at your fingertips to fun little apps featuring photos of dressage horses in action.
Just wish they had some fun stuff for Droid...

More ulcer news:  The Horse reports that, after nationwide scoping, all horses are at risk for stomach ulcers.

The Horse also reports that The New Bolton Center will host a discussion of the efficacy of the High Speed Treadmill in equine diagnosis.  The March 1 lecture will be presented by Elizabeth Davidson, DVM, assistant professor and sports medicine clinician at New Bolton Center. Part of New Bolton's free First Tuesday lecture series, the talk is open to all but reservations are required as seating is limited.

Eventing Radio Episode #119 is jam-packed. This episode features Chris Stafford and and guest co-host Bobby Costello.  Chris steers a great discussion with new Australian Coach Pru Barrett, and new RK3DE Event Director of Competition Christina Grey - who announced an entry in principle for the Belgian team - a first for the competition, among other firsts.  And, finally,  PRO's Samantha Lendl,  and Marcia Kulak talk with Chris about the exciting PRO Junior Young Rider's Scholarship Program.  Another great episode sponsored by Bit of Britain.

If you're planning on Badminton this year, book your accommodations now.  Due to the the date change, Badminton Horse Trials now falls on Easter weekend and many private B&B accommodations will not be offered.  A Horse and Hound list of places to stay may be found here.  For more information about the housing shortage visit Horse and Hound.

Ice is hitting the window so time for a nap.
