Eventing Day: Video: Burghley Horse Trials from 1961

I saw a tweet from Burghley Horse Trials (@burghley_horse) this morning about an historical clip from British Pathe. Shot in 1961, it is approximately two minutes of b&w Burghley Horse Trials history including spills chills, and a mention of venue change due to hoof and mouth disease.

Looking at this is interesting because it seems to me the horses were much beefier back then -- nice thick cannons. Could be my imagination. Enjoy this little moment of history from British Pathe Films ~ ed
