Burghley Links and info

Here's our list of very helpful Burghley links to make your remote, and perhaps not so remote, enjoyment of the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials all the better!

The official website is:  http://www.burghley-horse.co.uk/default.asp  There's a nice course walk with Mark Phillips on the homepage.

The official orders of go, ride times, and results can be found here:  http://www.bdwp.co.uk/bur/11/  Just make your selection from the little menu at the top of the page.

Burghley is not stingy with the video availability. You will find videos of individual rides available within two hours of the actual ride-times here:  http://vod.burghley.tv/portal/?sid=erv1t14lfm  Just choose your rider and wait for the video to begin. These will be updated regularly as the rides are completed. One word of caution here... once you establish a link, do not let it go. You pay hell trying to re-establish it. The site is swamped so get in and stay there.  Learn from my mistake!

The animated course map and fence guide is here:  http://www.burghley.tv/index.php?p=course-map

Video Cross-Country preview course walk with Mark Phillips is here: http://www.burghley.tv/index.php?p=cross-country-preview

So far, unfortunately, I have found no live competition television available to those of us in North America.

Horse and Hound will be offering live script blog commentary here:  http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/competitionnews/386/309279.html

TWITTER:  Honestly, one of the best ways to follow any horse trials is to follow it on twitter.com Just scout around and find the # hashmark for the event and follow along on tweets. The Eventing Tweeps really keep up with what's going on.  They announce results before the official results are posted.  And, the running commentary, both official and from the peanut gallery, is the best -- seriously!   Burghley's hashmark is #burghley.  So my advice is to follow along on tweetdeeck or hootsuite and enjoy the show! And, don't forget to follow us while you're at it!  twitter.com/eventingday  Follow us and we'll get you started!

So that's all we have for now.  We'll add information as we find it so check back.
