USEA announced that Red Hills will kick off the 2011 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Season...

On March 11 in Tallahassee, Florida, the Red Hills CIC3* will kick off the 2011 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Season. This year is a big one for the Gold Cup as the year-end prize money is being doubled from last year’s $10,000 to $20,000 for the horse and rider pair with the most points on the Gold Cup leaderboard.

Seven events at the CIC3* and Advanced Levels are on the schedule for this year’s Gold Cup Series starting with Red Hills and culminating with the USEA American Eventing Championships in September. The winning pair of each event garners 200 points for the Gold Cup leaderboard in addition to $500, seven doses of Adequan, a three-month supply of SUCCEED, and Nunn Finer open-front boots.
There are already over 20 competitors entered in the CIC3* including many seasoned Gold Cup competitors. Last year’s Gold Cup reserve champions, Karen O’Connor and Mandiba are entered along with her up-and-coming partner, Quintus 54.  The winners of the 2010 Fork Gold Cup division, Hannah Sue Burnett and St. Barths will also be contesting the CIC3* as well as the 2005 Gold Cup Champion, Phillip Dutton, who will be riding two horses in the Gold Cup division.

The competition will surely be fierce as Red Hills starts the 2011 race for the keeper of the cup!
