Under-18 Regional Coach Vacancy – Wales and Border Region

In 2010 British Eventing underwent an exciting restructure of its Under-18 Programmes (BE100JR, JRN and Juniors) in order to create a simple, practical and affordable system to monitor Under-18’s from entry into the sport right through to representing their country, based on a structured coaching programme. As part of this development BE recruited sixteen regional Under-18 Coaches; two for each of the eight Under-18 regions.
A vacancy for one of the Regional Coach positions has become available in the Wales and Border region.

The Regional Coaches, in conjunction with their Under-18 Regional Representative, will be responsible for delivering a complete regional training and education programme for registered U-18 riders, including stable management, rules and regulations, equine and human fitness.

The Regional Coaches will be expected to attend U-18 classes at BE events including National Championships when required and provide assistance and support to U-18 Regional Reps. The coaches will undertake or delegate course walks as required.

The two Regional Coaches will work equally within their region and all 16 will report to the Under-18 National Coach. The Regional Coaches should:

• Ideally reside in the region for which they are appointed
• Be a currently listed BE accredited/UKCC Level 3 (Eventing) Coach or a UKCC Level 2/3 Coach or BHSI/FBHS working toward their UKCC Level 3.
• Have started working toward their UKCC Level 3 by 31st December 2012

Regional Coaches will be paid a daily rate plus expenses for coaching days. When attending events mileage only will be paid. A fixed daily rate plus mileage will be applied for attendance at championship events.

To apply, please send your CV together with a covering letter to Gemma Harriss, BE by email gemma.harriss@britisheventing.com by Friday 25th March. Interviews to take place in mid-April.
