Area 8's Terry Kennedy Passes Away

This sad news just came in from Stoneg8jackie (Jackie Smith).  We in Area 8, and indeed in the entire US Eventing community, value all our eventing and horse trials volunteers and horse trials workers and friends. But some are regulars. They are very familiar faces at area horse trials -- giving of their time and energy to this sport.  Terry was just such a familiar presence out there -- a horse trials regular in these parts.  He will be greatly missed... We at Eventing Day  send our deepest condolences to his family and friends!  ~ ed.

Area VIII looses a familiar  face:  Terry Kennedy, a long time cross country starter at many events in Area VIII died Sat night as "his COPD got the upper hand and his lungs just gave out".   Arrangements are pending and no further information is available at this time.

Although not a rider, Terry stepped into the role of starter some years back when he and his wife Chris took over the duties of Chris' parents Jack & Pat Ray who won a Governors Cup for their services. Terry's smiling face and encouraging words will be greatly missed by riders and organizers alike.

Our deepest condolences to his family.
